We – all of us – have this new challenge. The challenge of Covid 19.
Amy is my wife and mother of our two boys. She runs a business in the same building as I teach TM in.
How to keep people safe in this location?
This has been our solution.
To buy an enclosed unit from a company in Cornwall called UV Cleanlight. The unit is called a UV-C Sterilon Flow.
These are quotations from the company website.
“UV Clean Light’s product range has been expanded with new STERILON FLOW UV-C airflow disinfection luminaires. These devices are an ideal, economical and aesthetic solution to the problem of air disinfection in constantly occupied rooms where exposed UV-C light cannot be used whilst people/animals are in the vicinity.”
“Fifteen minutes of exposure is all it takes – UV-C lamps emitting ultraviolet light are one of the most effective devices in eliminating viruses, bacteria, fungi from surfaces or destroying the DNA or RNA of any exposed microorganisms*.”
In theory every 20 minutes the air in the Wood shed should be clear of viruses and bacteria through the use of UV-C light.
We use the unit for 20 minutes before and after the visit of each individual to the building – so that there is absolutely no risk of any exposure to UV-C light for the customer (even though the unit is designed to be in use while people are present).
Our risk assessment told us that we need to clean all the door handles that you will come into contact with – the door handles of the toilet. The door handles of the Wood shed.
Also our risk assessment indicated that each client should be requested to wash their hands in the toilet before coming along to the Wood shed.
That in terms of meditation teaching we should be social distancing with 2 metres – which is what would tend to naturally happen in any respect.
Treatment for Covid 19?
The comments below are in no way, shape or form a substitute for seeking correct medical attention from properly qualified medically trained doctors or nurses.
If you have the symptoms of Covid 19 it is your responsibility and choice to contact the appropriately qualified individuals and bodies.
I am exclusively and only a TM teacher – not a health care expert never mind a trained medical professional and as such the words/ writing below is intended as food for thought in challenging times.
It has to come to my attention that there is a philosophy which seems to indicate our only hope comes in the form of a vaccine. Yet we are nowhere near a vaccine.
Why are we not examining Nature and naturopathic methods as a possible route to counter viruses?
My research leads me to recommend consideration of three simple and easy approaches or strategies.
You may take or leave these approaches according to your choice.
I hope – if nothing else – it will encourage you to look into how you will look after your health both at this time of Covid 19 and beyond. You may uncover strategies that are better than the ones that I have been able to locate.
TM is designed to be a positive health strategy like correct exercise and diet – therefore I am only ever going to encourage that type of approach in Life.
You and you alone are responsible for your own health in this context (of Covid 19 or any other virus) and what you will or will not try in the event of being diagnosed as Covid 19 positive.

The first is to have at hand and available onions – and to be prepared to consume these uncooked/ fresh/ raw (it is very important the volatile oils in onion are not damaged) in one form or another while with the symptoms of Covid 19.
This might be in the form of chopped onion and tomato with bread two or three times a day.
I specifically know of someone in Exeter who had positive confirmed Covid 19 and who had only mild symptoms – unlike his partner – and who eats chopped red onion in his lunch sandwich every day.
This is called anecdotal evidence – it is not confirmed scientific analysis of the situation. Are we in a position now to dismiss anecdotal evidence? (ask me to send you the MP4 film referred to below. See section in italics and bold).
It might be – for those less tolerant of raw onion – in the form of apple juice, honey (cold pressed – again so heat does not damage essential constituent aspects of honey) and onion all blended and consumed as juice. This may be a good option for kids.
It might be in the form of a compress or poultice on the chest on top of kitchen cloth (chopped onion bound within cloth or cloths).
In this case it is wise that the cloth or cloths are soaked in olive oil as the olive oil will counter the caustic nature of the onions (the woman in the film clip mentioned below – in italics and bold – did not use olive oil and burnt her skin. Yes – olive oil will be messy for sheets but better than burning skin badly through direct contact of onion with skin).
Onion is rich in vitamin C and Quercetin both which are known to help in viral/ viral load situations.
However it is my view that the volatile oil(s) in onion possibly damage the vulnerable thin lipid coat of the virus (Covid 19 is an enveloped virus). Scientists state clearly and emphatically that the “weak point” of a virus is this thin lipid coat/ envelope of the virus.
I have a brilliant 8 minute amateur film (created on her mobile phone) by an English woman who was developing the symptoms of – almost certainly – Covid 19 with the onset of pneumonia and how she treated this (via compress/ poultice) with onions. I am not able to upload this on this website but will happily send as an MP4 on request (luckily I received it as an MP4 file from a friend).
It was the No 1 film when researching “Onions Covid 19” on Monday 27 April 2020 but by the time of Friday 1 May when I was going to send the link the film to various friends it had been completely removed. Only YouTube can comment on why that was removed.
I would be inclined to buy and use a general body health/ support product as and when I get symptoms of Covid 19. I would have in mind this particular product from New Zealand but your health food shop may advise you of other very good quality products which will support general well being.
I choose to drink water out of a copper cup like these which I feel confident are as described – 100% pure copper.
Why? For these reasons.
I am aware that some people are or will be nervous of this due to copper being a metal. The only comment I can make is that it is a choice. You or we have to decide in a time like this what is right.
Personally I feel water has been drunk from copper vessels for millennia and has not been a problem. In fact it has been helpful. That is my choice. My risk.
I use copper water as a prophylactic whereas No 1 and No 2 strategies I would tend to use if I get the symptoms or am diagnosed with Covid 19. This is my choice. My risk.
By these three methods I would be aiming to make my body/ physiology as little receptive to Covid 19 as possible.
It is not absolute Science – but the actions have been taken with a scientific view in mind. The word “Science” comes from the Latin “Scire” which means to know.
